Umoja is the man behind Moja. He is a 24 year old artist from New Jersey. He first started music like most people, playing in the band in school. His family loved music as well so he grew up with it all his life. It was in college that he decided he wanted to take his music a step further and record what he was making. He first started off using audacity and then in 2020 moving to professional engineer.

When we asked Moja his genre of music, he would put it in the genre of alternative hip-hop. He would describe his music as raw, melodic and vibey. His most recent song, “Renegade” produced by Christian Armstrong, has the vibey feeling. Moja’s favorite song he created has yet to be released. But his current favorite released song would be “Diamond” but it is always changing.

If you are a first timer checking out Moja, a great song to listen to first would be “No Me Diga”. This song gives you a taste of what he is all about. This song has an amazing feature and is the only song that has a feature. It can also be seen as an international charm. Another song that shares his vibe feeling is the song, “Maybelline”. 

In 2020, released his EP Earthquake. His inspiration came from wanting to make a genuine impact globally. With the global pandemic, Moja has been able to his quarantine time to really grow and take each day one at a time.  Coming up, he plans to release more tracks, a music video for his recent release and three song mini project. The mini project will be exclusive on Soundcloud and YouTube consisting of vaporwave and hip-hop remixes.
